Re: can not get my 67 hubcaps on ???

Those wheel covers were made for OEM wheels, but most steel wheels use the same rim profile at the bead (not the newfangled crap). Wheels such as wagon wheels, rallyes, nuggets, etc. accept these covers. It does take a decent whack to mount these. I use a rubber mallet. Do you have any OEM wheels to compare the feel with?

I always wondered if the full wheel cap fit the rally rims.

Re: can not get my 67 hubcaps on ???

I'd hate to see you damage the wheel cover because I said bite the bullet and hit it harder, but could be all there is to it. If it feels the same on an OEM wheel, that is what the cover was made for. I'm sure you know where it's best to hit. When they're that tight, even when the first spot starts to catch, when you move to another spot it wants to pop loose. You have to keep pressure on that spot. It takes a knack you get a feel for once you've done a few. Mostly, it's important to have all three hands available

N.O.S. will be tight tight. Maybe find an old one, buy for a spare or maybe a funky one, and use that for practice

Re: can not get my 67 hubcaps on ???

Be glad they fit tight. (Assuming you have the correct wheels.) I have a set with some broken tabs and it's kind of embarrassing when they go rolling off your truck into a sidewalk or ditch when you turn a corner too fast.

Re: can not get my 67 hubcaps on ???

Will you be running narrow whitewalls or blackwalls? With narrow whitewalls you'd just have to paint wheel red so that thin ring of red will show between wheel cover and tires. Although your truck looks good, I don't particularly care for wheel covers with blackwalls too much, but I wouldn't want the rim white. I'd either do black or silver to make that area blend/disappear, or paint body color for minor accent. But, if truck is staying white I would go black or silver. Silver will make wheels look bigger
