What do you guys think?

Hey guys I'm just looking for a little input here. Me and my dad just bought a 67 short step for our next project. I don't get to work on it much since I'm at college, but i managed to make a rendering of the idea i had for the truck. Let me know what you guys think, I'm open to all suggestions and criticism.

Re: What do you guys think?

If I got you right thats what your shooting for with your truck, if that is right i'm not crazy about the black rims or bumper. But it is a sharp looking truck

Re: What do you guys think?

yeah i figured that would come up. the same rims come in a pewter finish which i think looks good against the copper, and then chrome bumper, mirror, etc.

heres the pichttp://www.discounttiredirect.com/product/wheels/t_20111101.levgua.brl.ang.jpg

Re: What do you guys think?

I think I like the side exhaust too, and I would be ok with bumpers painted copper

Re: What do you guys think?

I think if I went with copper bumpers I'd go with a roll pan in the front. And for the exhaust I'm still deciding between side pipes and just a side exit. And don't worry guys, I have a camera at home dedicated to this truck only!

Re: What do you guys think?

Welcome from Central Florida! I like the color but I think chrome would look better than the blackout thing. I'm running side pipes (kinda) and love the sound (big block though). Glad to see youngsters working on their own trucks too.

Re: What do you guys think?

We did that color for our 68 Longstepper. Toyed with the black and did not like it on the truck. The chrome just makes it standout big time. Attached pic actually shows our before image with the inserts painted the truck color. We swapped for chrome, biiiig difference.

Re: What do you guys think?

I like the color, also think a little chrome would look nice. Not a big fan of the side pipes. Probably just me, i feel they're a little dated, i remember having them back in the late 70's

Re: What do you guys think?

Yeah after looking at the side pipes I think I'm gonna ditch them. I think well jut take it out the side in front of the rear tires. A darker wheel with a machines lip would look cool. Our last project was a 52 ford f1 with a 4.6 in it and we did something similar. Ill post pics this weekend.

Re: What do you guys think?

You don't see it very often. They did one on tv on a bright orange truck. I think it would look better on a darker truck.

Re: What do you guys think?

I've looked into black chrome, but from what I've found it all seems pretty expensive. Do you guys know any places that do it for a good price?

Re: What do you guys think?

That is a sweet truck. I hope you all got a good deal on it. I am digging that interior. I agree with your ditching the side pipes and running the exhaust right out in front of the rear wheels, which is how I have mine ran. I don't have a stepper, but I like the look and sounds great. It is just pipe off the headers to a glass pack(a short fat one), more pipe to the tip which is angled with the bed side.

Re: What do you guys think?

Yeah that's what we have on our ford and it's loud as hell. And we bought a rust free roller for $1500.

Re: What do you guys think?

I like what you have started.... has a very autocross feel to it, Based purely on the photos so far I would ditch the side pipes like you said and run the pip out in front of the rear tire, ditch the front bumper and put in a roll pan. I like the black rims with the set up, but would look for more dish in the rim... JMHO! Great start though!

Re: What do you guys think?

It's only loud as hell when you put your foot into it and get the RPM's going...lol I am always asked what kind of muffler's I have, and everyone is surprised when I say glass packs.

Re: What do you guys think?

I'd like to use wheels like the tsw nurburging but were staying with the 6 bolt pattern.

Re: What do you guys think?

Yeah roll pan is definitely an option. Hard to photoshop though. And I hate the stepside rear bumpers.
