Updated Truck of the Month info .. opinions needed

I talked to Josh about the Truck of the month thing. I really want to see it started up again, so we are, BUT want all ya'lls opinions on it first. I'm throwing out some ideas in poll fashion, PLEASE vote so we can get this going again If you have an opinion or idea throw it in and we can go from there . I also want an idea on what ya'll think is a good time frame for nominations. 5 days, a week etc. How many trucks is to many to be nominated? Do you want the runner up to be auto nominated the following month ( if not using themes) ? Things like that..

IMHO I think it should be done in themes , 6 trucks per month , poll open a week, but again want to see what all ya'll want. If anyone had their heart set on running this please let Josh know. I have the time to do it and am SICK of seeing the old sticky but wouldn't want to hurt anyones feelings. Now that all that is said n done, lets get the ideas out there and get this going again

I only have this poll open for 3 days so we can start this for June , so please vote
Thanks ~ Liz

I told (PM ed ) Josh several months ago and told him I really had no interest in being TOTM and that I would run it for him but i would like to do it like its done over at customtruckshowcase. Its run very smoothly there and theres never been a problem. Some people would or could care less if they are picked so I think nominations should come from that indiviual for his own truck. That would get us away from all the I'm voting for such and such on the nominations thread. This is just the way I feel and its working somewhere else.

Oh yes, They have nominations for one week then voting for one week and it gives em enough time to get the TOTM thread ready for the 1st of the month.

Since I had joined it has always said September truck of the month, I checked it a few times but was always way outdated, I saw MHC ask about taking care of it but don't remember anything past that. BUt I would think it would be an excellant idea to restart it back up.

I think you should only be able to win a certain # of times to give other trucks a fighting chance. Mudder and Pont have the best looking trucks I have ever seen but I think they would be the feature truck every month.

on the 73-87 forum they have it set where , if you win you can not be nominated again that year ( i believe its a year) it gives everyone a chance.

MHC would probably have more time and be better at taking care of the TOTM. I just want to see us have one. I want it to run smooth and dont want any hurt feelings or arguments. There are a lot of very sweet trucks on this board. Someone may not want to be considered for TOTM so I think each person shall nominate his (her) truck if they want to be considered. That can take care of "all" the trucks, stock, 4x4's, or just plain old daily drivers. The first 5 or 6 or 7 that is nominated is in, the rest go for it next month. Everyone should have a chance or oppurtunity to have their truck featured, IMO.

The theme idea is fine since there are enough active members that frequent this forum. I chose not to go with themes on the 73-87 forum because I didn't think there were that many active members to create themes from.

I also let people nominate their own truck. At first I didn't think it was a good idea, but so far it's worked out fine. It allows new members to get recognition.

I have to list the previous winners to prevent them from being nominated again. This gives more people a chance at the glory....

I say go for it. So far everyone on the 73-87 forum has liked the feature. It creates another reason to stop in often....
