Re: can I run my blazer with the doors off?
The risk is stuff falling on the floor and rolling out. Check your local laws but I've seen plenty running without doors.
Back in the 70's, there were fiberglass kits to cover the door frames, like they had for the little broncos. I haven't seen any of those in a long time. VTBlazer did a "how-to" on modifying the door hinges for quick removal. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=237941

If you're just talking about street driving, I don't think you'll have any problem. If you get rough with it off-road, you could have issues. I don't think the body is strong enough without the doors to do anything more than dirt roads.

When I built my tube doors, they act exactly the same as a factory door does and provide for structure & support in the same areas. Your point is the valid, off roading without the doors will bend stuff... |

Re: can I run my blazer with the doors off?
Just becareful if you're running no doors or top. The body does flex quite a bit on these blazers. Ever since taking my top off the doors don't close as nice as before since the body seems to have flexed a little bit. I can only imagine how much flex it'd have with no doors or top on lol But if all you're body mounts are SOLID then it shouldn't be too bad.

The doors are a structural component of the tub, changes in the door opening if driven without any means of support will occur. Other mods could work though, if you really wanted to drive without the doors, you could brace the firewall and accomplish the same effect. |
