1 ton 4x4 Wheel Cap Pics?
My brother-in-law (old wagon) has a '83 1 ton 4x4 dually with the factory dually front rims. He mentioned he'd like some sort of front caps similar to the 6 lug rally caps I have on my '71 4x4 1/2 ton rallies. Never seen anything like that on a 1 ton but I don't have much 1 ton experience. Needs an to be
an " open " cap as he has manual locking hubs. Anyone have something along those lines and care to post some pics? Thought about using the newer plastic center caps and possibly grinding the center out to fit? Just looking for some ideas for him here.

buddy of mine used a dually simulator cap and cut the center out to turn the lockouts on his alum. eagle wheels.

This is my single wheel with the newer style caps drilled out dont see why the dually caps would not work

That's exactly what he and I have talked about. Not sure how well it will work on a 1 ton dully rim but he picked up a couple spare caps to experiment with. Anyone else have some pictures of their front wheel 4x4 rims for a 1 ton?

Keep in mind, the caps like Yousesteers posted were also made in a "shallow" profile, meant for the front of the newer duallys. Since the DRW front hub doesn't stick out as far as the SRW hub above, the shallow caps wouldn't leave you with a 4" hole to stick your hand down to get to the hub.
When I ran simulators for a while on mine, I just kept a stubby phillips head screwdriver to pull the caps when I needed 4wd. I thought about cutting a 4.5" hole in them to access the hub, but I just knew I would slice my hand up on the thin metal simulators.

Mine are plastic and stick out of the cap about 2 1/2 inches but the dually would set them back a few inches.
