Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
Getting ready to order my suspension stuff and I need to make up my mind on no lift or some lift. I don't want the truck so high it is a pain to get in and out of. My wife is short compared to me so I need to keep it reasonable, so if I lift it, I am looking at 2" up front, 3" out back. Please post some pics to help me make up my mind. Thanks
Mike

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
If you're going higher in the rear to level the stance, I was under the impression that it took 2" more in the rear than the front to accomplish this. Am I wrong?

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
I am at stock height with 33" and it sits and rides great. It had a 3-4" lift when I bought it and the ride was a little hard with too much sway on turns.
am running with 8" rallies. I do plan on putting on a 73&^ front sway bar but this mod will require some fab work. |

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
is there ANY room to stuff 33's with a stock height???
my susp. was so dead when i finally replaced it, i dont even know if 33's would have fit with out rubbing! I have a BDS lift with 4" front and 6" rear...., i think with a heavy hard top it would make it sit almost perfect.... w/ out the top its a tad bit taller in the rear.... a bit of weight in the back like some sand bags etc (if i can secure them back there) would make it really perfect, and probably handle a bit better to, as the 6" springs are prob. a bit stiff in back. However i dont have ANYTHING in the back of my truck, usually less then 1/2 tank of gas and no hard top. |

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
Here's a 4" with 33"s. It's a Tuff Country 4" all spring in the rear. The fronts are custom Alcan 9-leaf packs that were spec'd and measured out to a 3 1/2" lift in the front. The look is a bit deceiving because the tires are metric 33"s on 16"x8" rims with 4" backspace and the rear is the same width as the front.
This will give you an idea of how high the truck will sit: If you measure in the front from the top of the axle to the bottom of the bump stop mount, then a stock spring measures about 8"... A 4" lift measures about 12", and generally speaking a 6" lift measures about 14". Add in a correction for taller tires and that will give you a pretty good idea. I'm 6' tall and with my 4" lift I can pretty much stand on my tip-toe and slide right into the seat. The wife struggles a bit to get in, not bad, but she digs the ride height the way it is.

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
Go back through the search function and you'll find lots and lots of threads going over this very subject with pics included.
I've run both a stock set up and a 4" lift w/33's. I found/experienced that 33's will rub with stock suspension and for me, 33's with a 4" lift has a small "hop" factor to get in. I was in the process of building another blazer recently and had decided a 2" all spring lift with ORD zero rates was the way to go with 33's for all around driving. Check out teeitups 4x4 step, he's running a 2" w/33's and it looks just right. IMO. |

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
I think a 2" w/12.50x33s would be the best for an on road/not really lifted look.

Re: Pics of Blazers with 33's and no lift.
Only reason 3 inch back is because spring sag on back. I forgot the blazer has 31x10.50x15 on it
