Put the yoke in the trans, pull it back an inch or so, measure from it to the rear end yoke and head to the junkyard.

i have a 69swb with a 327 / t5 from a 84 camaro. lowered a bit , moved rear back 3/4" to center rear wheel. I have an aluminum shaft from a 2000? mustang gt , u joints fit , like it was made for it. Good luck - Bob

If you can't find the exact length you need, you can get a little longer one and have it shortened a bit.

I did exactly like junkman said. Cost me $10 for the shaft. Don't worry sbout the yoke. Just look for the right U-joints and center to center distance. You can always swap the yoke from your old shaft as long as it isn't a 4 speed.
