I'LL GO YOU GUYS EACH ONE IF YOU WANT. THEY COST ME ABOUT $10 EACH (DON'T HOLD ME TO IT, BUT I THINK), SHIPPING IS ABOUT $5 & ABOUT $5 FOR MY TIME. ABOUT $20 SHIPPED. THEY ARE PRETTY PLENTIFUL & IF YOU'VE GOT THE TIME TO GO HUNTING IN THE BONE YARDS, YOU CAN SAVE YOUR SELF ABOUT $10 JOHN

KRUE ANY VAN WITH A 350 CU IN ENGINE IN IT WILL WORK, & 95% OF THEM CAME WITH 350s.
(QUOTE BY 4X4GMC1972) Is the van dipstick correct for a '72 4x4?
Todd (QUOTE)
TODD.. TODD.. TODD.. NO NOT EXACTLY. 72 4X4 CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH A SHORT DIPSTICK TUBE, & IF YOU REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING ELSE (A VAN DIPSTICK IS ABOUT 2 FEET LONGER) YOU WILL BE CREATING A CARDINAL SIN WITH ALL THE FACTORY ORIGINAL, CONCOARSE GUYS. OF COARSE IF YOU'VE REPLACED YOUR DISTRIBUTER WITH AN HEI, YOU WILL ALREADY BE COMITTED TO CONCOARSE H@LL, & WILL BE SHUNNED & IGNORED BY EVERY TRUCK RESTORATION PUREST. JOHN
(JUST TRYING TO HELP HERE, NOT TRYING TO START A NEW VOCATION, OR PUSH VAN DIPSTICKS ON ANYBODY)

John
LOL!!! I am not a purist. There is plenty on my truck that is not "factory". I am pretty certain my truck came with something other than a short dipstick and tube though.
Currently it does have the short dipstick with a tube that is about 6" long. I am looking for the one that ties to the fourth exhaust manifold stud, curves to the front right behind the alternator.
I am not sure how the van dipstick is configured.
Thanks
Todd
