Re: 2WD Front End Lift Question

I replaced the front springs in mine with Moog stock big block with AC springs. It gave it a good lift. They were about $100 or so when I bought them. In the pic I have stock size tires on it and have had up to 33's on it with little or no rubbing. I tried the Rancho lift springs but they were too harsh. BTW the engine and tranny in the truck weigh considerably more than the stock setup.

I don't know what you mean by that but enging is Olds 425 and 700r4 behind it. It is a Longhorn with stock suspension except for the Moog replacement springs for BB and A/C.

Re: 2WD Front End Lift Question

If you lift another 2" wont you bottom out your upper control arm?? Which would make for a terrible ride and handling going down the road as you wont have any room for your tire to drop when it goes over a bump or down into a dip....

Vince
I was curious as to what setup you had that the BB springs would give the lift that you wanted.

How much more does the 425 weigh than a SBC ?

Re: 2WD Front End Lift Question

The BB Olds and 700r4 together are about 180 lbs more. The TH350 and 350 that were in there The tranny is 30 or so and the Olds is 150 more or so.

I have tried to find the number of the springs I installed but no luck. I'll keep looking.
