Tach and tilt

Need some advise.

Found relatively local tach dash and truck tilt for sale. Seller says they both came out of a 71 big block truck he scrapped. Says both are in good shape. I'll probably go see them in the next day or so. I know tach dashes are selling way low now. Saw one sell for $150 on ebay recently. Can't find a good reference price on a truck tilt.

I have no interest in using these so if I can get a good enough deal I'll be wanting to pass these along and either trade or make a few bucks in the classifieds.

I need pictures or good descriptions to verify they are what the seller says they are and a good price reference.

Re: Tach and tilt

Real factory truck tilts that are complete and "tight" seem to run about $200-250 complete. I paid $200 for mine 2 years ago. They're probably going cheaper right now too?

I'd be interested in that tach dash pending pics....

Jesse's right...a good tight tilt could get $200-$250 complete

Re: Tach and tilt

If it's a good tight tilt and you repainted in the factory color you could probably get 300+ for it

Re: Tach and tilt

good tight tilts are worth $250 sometimes more, tachs are bringing $200. Tilts haven't really went down in price much, tachs aren't selling as hot as they once were.

Re: Tach and tilt

Geoff, THANKS for the kind words!!!
3quartertime, the 2 main things on tilts are the shifter handle pin being wollared out in the collar and then to test the tightness on the tilt when you bring the tilt down with the tilt lever see if the steering wheel moves any up and down, if it locks and does not move its tight, if it moves its wore on the inside and needs rebuilt. Good luck, Randy

Re: Tach and tilt

Cool. Yea I do know that Randy is the parting out king!!! I'm glad he stopped by...

How do you test to see if a tilt is 'good and tight'?

Re: Tach and tilt

Factory repaint of black. We redid two tilts and there's a night and day difference usually when it comes to the color before and after paint. Sloppy tilts are not worth that much imo. Randy's dead on for testing the tightness.

Re: Tach and tilt

If you get them, let me know. I am on the southeast side of Indianapolis and have a lot of extra parts. Maybe something you need.
