back-up light assemby removal

someone out there willing to share how to remove the wire from the back-up assembly so it can get fished through the holes in the box or do you just chop it and rewire it? Its in mint shape and would like to not have to butcher it

It is not easy sometimes. I usually squirt the connection with a penetrant , and with the tailight out and the backup light hanging I reach through the two holes with as many fingers as I can to grasp the wire. I twist the connector to break it loose and then pull it apart. I have never had to cut one or have not pulled one in two doing it this way.

Good luck!

Jim
