Re: how to change front looks?

there aint much difference between the two. the green one has a couple of scrapes or dents in it and the white truck has a cowl hood. the grilles are the same except for some paint as is the headlight buckets nothing is recessed more the detail job on the blazer is great tho you could paint yours to look like that too

Re: how to change front looks?

You are going to need to get the 73-78 grille setup...new grille, headlight doors (yours goes all the way down and around the parking lights...the others dont), grille moulding. Check the pic below from the LMC catalog to see the differences. It looks like the blue one has had the grille painted (saves you some $$ since you can just reuse yours) and had new chrome trim put on. Looks like around $170 minus the emblem.

Re: how to change front looks?

His grille is the fancy 78 with paint, Then he added the cowl hood. yours is the regular 79. I would recommend just painting the grille, new emblems, maybe hook some chrome strips to it if you want. Add in the cowl hood or an after market scoop and you got it.

The grill with small squares was standard on '79's and '80's.....

Re: how to change front looks?

Ordered a plastic chrome grill from LMC and some new plastic chrome headlight doors from ebay for my 79 GMC just to freshen the front up until I decide what I'm gonna do permanently. Cost about $80.oo total.

Re: how to change front looks?

Dhughins,
If you are in Ozark, pick up 231 north towards Montgomery. Somewhere around in the Pine Level area is a place called "The Truck Farm".....
I have the # at work (I think ) If it is there I will post it...You might be able to get some better looking pieces for your truck without spending a lot of money...

Re: how to change front looks?

You have to change the grill the bezels and the bumper! you can alternate from 73 to 80 parts!!
