SM 465 experts ???
I need some expert experience regarding the input assembly of a SM 465.
The book I have for assembly shows a small bearing cage for the roller bearings that fit inside the input shaft for the main shaft to pilot on. I have the accurate count of rollers that came out of the original asssembled transmission, but no cage. Is it realy that important to have in the assembly???? If so, where can I get one?? Those cages are sometimes there, sometimes not. It is not necessary.

Thanks for the words of assurance. I have been into quite a few trannys and never have found one yet. Was mainly curious since this was the first blow-up parts diagram that I remember having shown one.

The cage just makes it easier to assemble since you do not have to handle the individual rollers or use any grease to hold them in place. Once everything is assembled the cage is just along for the ride.
