Re: I finnished the final assembly of the 72 Stepsides bed!

Who would have thought that adding a gas filler door would have been such a pain. This also shows the cross sill that I had to modify in order to mount the filler. I now have to figure out how to mount a lock or something that will allow the owner to open the door.. WES

That looks fantastic! I'd hate to be the one fueling it up though.... I have visions of spilling gas all over your beautiful work!

Awesome job! That is some quality design and craftsmanship!

As Andy4639 mentioned, I'd be terrified to spill any gas on that gorgeous finish!

By the quality of work in the pictures I wouldn't like the gas hose laying on the tail gate either while filling it up!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Looks great Wes. I cant eat anything without spilling on my shirt. I would destroy a pristine bed like that lol.

No doubt - me too! I just don't understand the hate for in-tank cab and cab filler. After 40 years out of production it seems people would treat them as novelty. Its not something you see anymore, and looks unique compared to fuel filler doors, etc.

The work looks great though, Wes!

Re: I finnished the final assembly of the 72 Stepsides bed!

Thank you guys. I don't think this was about the owner not liking the in the cab tank, to him it is about being custom. He has two other trucks with the gas tanks behind the seat. This truck has shaved door handles, single piece windows, power windows, power bucket seats, power doors, and etc. I wouldn't have gone with this tank either for the same reasons evertone else has given here. It just was my job to make what he had done to his truck look good and function well. WES
