Difference:67-70 & 71-72 w/s chrome??
Ok. Without taking my windhield chrome out and checking one of my 72's. Can someone tell me which year style uses 3/8 deep chrome and the other 11/16th deep chrome? I found a new unmarked windshield gasket for the shallow depth style in my parts. Now I can't remember which years use the shallow depth chrome before I take a 50/50 shot at cutting the trim out of my parts truck(s). Didn't want to tear out a sealed windshield for the wrong chrome.
Thanks for narrowing my odds down on which one to cut first! Mark

Just to make your decision harder. I am going to take a differing view. I think they went to the deeper length to keep the trim from popping out during an install. That would make the earlier years the short one and the later years would be the trim for the deeper groove.

Pulled a 70 windshield friday had the deeper chrome. Thats not to say it had'nt been swapped out. I have mostly 72's and my windshielsd guy cusses me out everytime he has to do the shorter chrome. It is always popping out on install. Still would prefer a tie breaker to post for da-burb and I. Drum roll please!

I think the general consensus is the 67-70 is deep and the 71-72 is shallow. I think that is true also as I had generally only had bought parts for 72's and it is the shallow cut.
Now I'll just cut into a 72 for the trim and see. Thanks everyone, Mark
