Whats the rarest 67-72 you've seen?
I was looking at some back posts and spotted the 4x4 ambulance that somebody acquired recently.Those have to be pretty rare.So in your opinion what is the rarest you've seen?

I would think any year of 67-72 C30 dually converted to Napco 4x4...would be my guess...

Yea I would have to agree on the rust.You cant even hardly find em around here without holes big enough to throw a cow thru.

Probably the second lowest production truck i have seen in person would be chevyfatman's 70 (??) 2 wheel drive Blazer, but my one ton longhorn (1404 built) may be a lower production number vehicle.

Factory is debatable...I say yes though IMO.
This truck was sold liek this through a GM dealer, converted by a GM authorized conversion comapny, much like the 3rd gen camaros were converted to a convertable, or the conversion vans...ect. I'm not sure where you are in Ohio, but this gold one is in West/Central Ohio right now, straight from the desert last year. There were at least 4 styles of streached cabs from the factory...here is the most common found one. notice the rear doors are unmodified front units. There are actually a few board members who own these, and this green one belongs to a member, but I think he is inactive though. |

Thats pretty awesome.Iv'e seen one like the full door conversion and just thought someone fused a couple together...Not to tread on anyones truck,but i'll stick something a little shorter..FUGLY! lol

I said that once on a pictured truck, turned out i was talkin about the guy who posted the pic's truck...kinda felt bad about it, he still lurks and post's once ina awhile...you know who you are Joe!

there are quite a few trucks that have rare options, or rare combinations of options. for example, big block trucks with a 3 on the tree. pretty rare, and rightly so. a while back on eBay I saw a '72 K/20 burb with 350, 4 speed, and dual A/C, kind of a rare setup. also, the 3 speed OD trannies seem to be pretty rare.
I would have to agree with Brian on the Napco conversions...I've only ever seen two, and one of them is owned by board member 60apache4. Oh yeah, can't forget some low production number vehicles...'68 C/30 Longhorns are pretty low, and if they made the GMC version that year...then that would be even rarer. Probably the rarest regular production would have to be a 4 wheel drive panel truck though, you just don't see a whole lot of them running around. Most were probably rode hard and put away wet, which led to an early demise. I don't even think they were made all the way til '72, so that makes the numbers even lower.

cant say i have ever seen one in person but i would have to say a 3/4 ton 4x4 panel truck would be the rarest

Yes i too i have stuck my foot in my mouth more than once. If i showed pics of my truck,people would want to know who got killed in it.lol ...Anyway if that truck was mine i would paint it yellow and haul the kids to school in it.

in 67 there were 8 3/4 ton 4X4 panels built with a V-8...but I thought he wanted to know the rarest we have ever seen.

i dont know which is more rare, a 70 longhorn or a 72 2wd blazer, i have seen both

i have never seen one, i doubt anyone has. but the rarest thing i have read about was a 72, 1/2ton 4x4 long box stepside.. were like 6 made or something like that... wonder where they are?

I used to see an orange '69-'72 GMC 4-door suburban driving around Tucson. Haven't seen it in a couple of years. Probably an after market conversion thru a GM-authorized dealer like that outfit in Oklahoma.

For me the rarest I have seen is a 68 longhorn in absolutely beautiful condition.
