Post Trucks seats? What did you use in your truck? Pics?

I would like to upgrade to a better quality seat in my truck. What have you guys found that fits and looks good? A newer style factory seat? ('90 & up Chevy truck?) Or maybe buckets out of something from the wrecking yard? Maybe buckets out of a late '70s Chevy truck with consol?

Lets see some pics of what your are running and what they came out of.

thanks!

Reid

Not mine, but a common upgrade. Bolts in witha few washers for shims and a couple holes poked in the floor.
Only trouble is the 2 inch or so increase in height. Don't sound like much untill you get in.

I like the old look, however, would prefer a newer feel. Has anyone had their old seat fixed up with newer padding / springs and a new cover? Did it feel good. When I'm setting in my 30 year old seat, it's HARD to imagine what it felt like when it was new. Darren

when i bought my 3/4 ton it had a seat from a 91 or so cheyy truck, i think, maybe earlier, it was a bench seat with no headrests, vinyl, and it had recessions for driver and passenger, it was pretty new. I recently put it into my 71 daily driver. my original seat didnt slide or tilt anymore, and this one did perfectly. it LOOKED like a direct swap, HAHAHAHA, it was so close that it really pissed me off, so close that i had to kina mount it to one side so that the blots missed the original bolts that are welde to the bracket under the floorboard. i ahve a seat cover on it at the time so it looks just like my original did with the same seat ocver on it, but it sits higher, the first time i drove it i felt like i was about to tip over around turns

I have buckets and console from a '95 Silverado in my '67. The drivers side is a six way power. They sit a bit higher but I like the feel.

On my previous '67 I put in a new takeout from a 2002 F*#~ F-150. I got a real good deal on it and half of the holes lined up.

If I had my preferences, I'd use refurbished original buckets.

I used 81 Z28 buckets, and made my own brackets using original bench brackets, and a console from a newer blazer.

I sent a shot from the pass side. Let me know if you want one from the driverside.

I have the console out right now, gonna make some brackets so it sits higher. I wrecked my Z, seats were in storage for 12 years.

Hey Purs, that is the seat I have been thinking about. I had that seat in a '96 4x4 I had, and it was quite comfortable.

How did it fit? Was there much fabrication to make it work?

These are late 80's early 90's Pontiac Bonneville seats. Power drivers. Went in really nice, just drill holes. The console is home made. More pics at freephoto under 72chevyLWB.

I used a seat from a 99 dodge because I like the big console. I took it out after awhile because I decided it was just a tad too tall for me.

I bought these from ebay. I have had them in my truck but didn't take pictures before I removed them to do some cab repairs. If you get the bracket that fits our trucks bolts right in. Sit real good, have adjustable lumbar, and recline.
