Try calling your local dealership parts departments or some of the online resources like www.partzoneonline.com

Re: NOS stuff question...

Some dealers just refuse to try and look. A while ago when I had a mustang my local dealer said no hoods were available for my 70. I then asked in the next city to me and those guys said there were 6 left for sale. Both Ford dealers, should be using same database

That's weird, I had almost the exact same thing happen to me when I was looking for a NOS hood for my 70 Mustang about 10-12 years ago....

Re: NOS stuff question...

What are you looking for? A lot of parts are discontinued from Gm. I got many NOS stuff from ChevyPartsGuys at Ebay. They are a Gm dealer in Eugene, Oregon. So Try to call them toll free at 1-800-452-5059 and tell them what your'e looking for. Or go to www.chevypartsguys.com. Remember, alot of parts from Gm are discontinued so they may not have what your'e looking for.

Re: NOS stuff question...

My guess is the reason most folks at the GM dealer parts counters don't want to bother with looking up old parts is that most are paid on commission. They can waste a lot of time trying to run down old parts just to find out they are no longer available. Time they could have spent making money selling recent late model parts.

Re: NOS stuff question...

Sometimes it is a simple as finding a parts person with interest. When I first bought my 59 GMC I found a partsman who at a GM dealer that was able to get me all sorts of parts, although most were not NOS GM, but still he was getting me parts. He left the GM dealer and went to work at a Nissan Dealer and he still got me parts for my 59 GMC!

Re: NOS stuff question...

Andy, best thing to try is, find the part number yourself and then go to the dealer. I know there are members here who can help with the #s. I try to get alot of part numbers at one time and just see what is still available. Of course i am looking for oddball stuff!!!

Re: NOS stuff question...

Your best bet is to try and find the pt# and call around. I have a parts book for these trucks if you need help finding a part/group number. I found a lot of rare stuff on eBay like: a NOS 1964-1972 C60 2 speed rear switch wiring harness, NOS sidemarkers and cab light lenses(new teardrop and old 69-70 hockey pucks), NOS clutch linkage, NOS wheel cylinders and kits, etc. I have a box full of probably 30lbs of NOS stuff. Oh and I can't forget this metallic green rear-view mirror arm cover!!!

Re: NOS stuff question...

I'm not so much looking for something, I just want to get my hands on some of this stuff, and make a few bucks off of it too. (NOS stuff for my rig would be sweet too)
