Re: outer rocker & cab corners.........
don't know about a write up but make sure you fit them with the door hanging. iv'e had trucks where they were to high and forward and doors would never fit properly

Re: outer rocker & cab corners.........
I replaced mine last weekend along with the rocker panels. It was kind of a pain but with a little modification the panels finally fit. **The repo panels are close but not exact so be prepared for a little work to make them right and also make sure that your doors so you can line them up correctly

Re: outer rocker & cab corners.........
Post pics of your cab corners because I have done a few sets and do not like how they fit. I usually cut up the cab corner and just use a portion of the metal. Hard to explain but minimal cutting if possilble but depends how bad your corners are.

Re: outer rocker & cab corners.........
That is a good way to do it and the way most body shops and I do it. What is the use of cutting out good metal just to replace it. You would not cut off a man's good leg to replace it with a artificial one would you. Same with your rockers. I know on these trucks just like on my '69 some of the rockers are all gone but if the back is good and the front is bad buy a replacement cut out the bad part replace with the good tack it in then finish it up. Like was said make sure your doors are where you want them and are lined up and if there are any work to be done to the bottoms of them like rust repair do it so you don't run into a surprise later on after you patch your door and then it will not fit your cab corner or where you fixed the rocker.

Re: outer rocker & cab corners.........
i have one corner that is bad, but it's not a big hole. Is it realistic for me to cut down the piece that i put in so that if i screw it up, i can take it to a real body shop and have them cut out around any mess i make, and drop in a full cab corner?
hope that makes sense. |
