would this be a good cam choice?
went to auto zone today, and they've got a 268HE comp cam, $185 for the cam/lifter kit... how is that price? not sure if its high or not... anyways, my engine is a 355, flat tops with 4 valve reliefs, 487 heads, weiand 8004 intake (equal to a edelbrock performer) 850 CFM quadrjet, HEI, and 1 7/8" headers.... the truck is the K20 in my signature.. just wonderin gif any of you have used this cam and how you think it would be in that truck, i'll post the desktop dyno results later when i play around with it

had to do a screen save and cut this out, kinda distorts it saving it as jpeg but i think you can see the numbers

Take a look in Summit racing, you should be able to order that cam kit for about $160. crane puts out an energizer line, that you can get cam kits for about $100-120, & they are good kits . the energizer 272 would be pretty close in lift & duration to the comp 268. Good luck,crazyL

Take your Summit catalog to Autozone and they will match summit's price. I do it all the time when i get small performance parts (plug wires, carb calibration kits, air cleaners, ect). The low end torque looks a little low on that cam, for a 4x4 with big tires you may want to go with a little smaller cam. But if you have 4.10 gears and dont plan on adding huge tires later on, it may be OK.
