I think I found a big piece of my handling issue
Back end of my truck has seemed kind of funky since I got it. Seems to bottom out with no weight, and had a pretty good lean to the right. Also sits very low on what looks like original springs.
The springs didn't look too great, so I ordered a set of 2" lowering springs. Not sure if I want it much lower than that, as I still want the ability to use this as a truck. Anyways, I'm partway through the rear end. Installed new bushings in the trac bar, and swapped out one spring. Have to finish the other spring and put in the trailing arm bushings. I did take one photo that I find amusing. New spring is a 2" lowering spring, I believe the old one is an original HD spring according to the SPID.

You may be on to something. I guess they just don't build things to last.

x 2. Looks like someone heated that spring to lower the truck.

Good chance of it. Lots of other very wrong stuff was done along the way.
