what rearend will fit my 68 Chevy PU

ok, I have a 68 chevy truck w/a 6 lug suspension. It had a 6cylinder 3spd stick in it & i swapped it all out & put a V8 w/a 3spd auto. I have this odd feeling that my RPM's will be a tad high w/this rearend. So what other year rearends will fit or will the gears from a newer style rearend fit into my housing. thanks, joe

Re: what rearend will fit my 68 Chevy PU

have the same problem 67 swb twisted the axel in mine...was wondering what rearends would swap out .....i have leaf springs ...finding a axel is hard...if you were closer would buy the rearend if you swapped it out....

The 3.07 ratio is the most sought after for its high gear, but most were 3.73
