Brothers Lowering Springs

I have been looking to lower my truck for some time and I notice that many people use the ECE springs; I got the Brothers magazine in the mail the other day and they have fronts and rears for ~95$/pair. They recommend a 3"/4" drop. The price is definitely appealing and I think a 3/4 drop would make me very happy. Does anyone have any experience with these springs? suggestions? To complete the thought here is a pic of my truck:

Thanks guys!

I went with CCP Company and bought thier Spring/Shock kit,
(think it was $299.99). I was told not go any lower than a 3/4 Drop because of alignment issues. My Truck already had 2 1/2 Drop Spindles in front, so I ended up with a 5.5" Drop in Front and added 2" Drop Blocks to the Rear for a total drop of 6".
Love the stance!

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

I ordered a drop kit, sway bar, pahard bar and c notch from brothers. My only issue was customer service. All parts were backordered for weeks, some parts almost 2 months! I called several times and never got clear answers or any sincerity from them.
Dont get me wrong, i like the parts and prices but i was very disappointed with the customer service.

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

Small block w/ 3/2 early classic spring drop and stock spindles. Maybe this will help you decide. And my reasoning for using them was to get what I wanted for the drop not what they sent me. And I worry about Companys with just a few warehouses shipping from where ever or drop shipped. Figured a Company that specializes in suspension should send me what I ordered..Could be wrong..but my reason any way..good luck making up your mind.

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

I have ordered springs before from Brothers in the past w/ no problems but just a side note. I put 2" dropped springs and dropped shocks on my old 67 and it didn't lower it at all! Turns out when if u r running original springs, those old ones tend to sag! Rode alot better though..just my .02

That is an interesting insight. I didn't really think about that. I do want it low but I didn't want to reduce the ride quality. The last thing I want to do is have to worry about scraping at steep driveways. Im still thinking 3/4; does everyone think a 5/6 would be better?

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

5/6 is a much better look, but you run into added cost like spindles, c notch, shocks, then springs, so how much do you want to spend to get it down?

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

You also have to decide how much functionality you want to lose in lowering it.
Those big ol' wheel wells may not look "cool" with space intended for wheel travel, but you can bet they offer a wider range of intended uses.

I dont have any experience with brothers springs however I have the 4/6 kit from Early classics and so far it is excellent in every aspect.

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

What is the lowest you can go before a cnotch is required? I was thinking of going 3 / 4 drop.

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

Not trying to hijack, but I'm also interested in doing a 3/4 spring drop. Are there any issues in using the 3" springs in the front? I've read some posts recently about them with mixed opinions, loose, rattling, etc. Anybody have any pics of this drop, would like to see what it looks like.

I have a 5.5" Drop in Front and a 6" Drop in the rear.
I have no issues with Tire Rubbing.
Now granted, I don't "Haul" anything in the back and if I hit a Pothole it does "Bottom Out", but on 95% of the roads it's a non issue.

Re: Brothers Lowering Springs

I am not sure we got an exact answer to how low can you go "without" a c-notch? "wwotr" how much do you have in dollars in your drop? That is a killer look and you say it is still functional.....I dont want to have any tire rub nor have to use "bags" to drive my driver.

That's actually a "Guide Coat", after they finished the Body Work.
A lot of people think I'm going the "Rat Rod" direction, but I'm just waiting for paint after January.
