Looking for "U" channel gasket for vent window
Like the title says I'm looking the U-xhannel gasket for the vent window. Tried a search online but no luck. Tried the vendors marketplace on this site and couldn't navigate to what I was looking for. SO for those of you that have replaced the u-channel where did you get them from?

Re: Looking for "U" channel gasket for vent window
I do not think it is a u-channel gasket but rather simply glass setting tape. Yours is just old and stiff and thus holding that shape.
Here is such an example. Not sure what thickness is required: http://www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/sh...7&ModelID=1679 I BELIEVE oil is used during installation. The oil makes the tape slippery so you can insert tape/glass into frame. Then, the oil causes the tape to expand which locks the glass in place. Last edited by Davidf; 09-29-2020 at 11:30 AM. |

Re: Looking for "U" channel gasket for vent window
Does anyone know if the '67 Camaro and Firebird vent window U-channel is the same as for a '67 C10? I can find u-channel for the Camaro and Firebird's but none for a C10.

Re: Looking for "U" channel gasket for vent window
I went to the local glass shop last week and they said that their supply of glass setting tape was on back order. Told me that they should have some Monday. Monday came and no call.
So I went old school and dug through my old catalogs. I found them at LMC p/n 38-5935. They are called "glass setting rubber" so that explained why I couldn't find them online. I was using the wrong verbiage to look for them.

Ok, I got my tape from LMC. When you say oil what type oil are you referring to?
