68 pro touring, auto cross c10 (mid life crisis)

i guess its time to start my build thread. i have been stashing parts away for this ever evolving project for 5-6 years now. it started as my orange and white 72 shop truck lwb. bags/ big brakes/ od trans./...... no body work, leave the patina. then the under side was to nice for the old body. long story short. shop truck is gone and we are building a 68 road racer. here it is when we got home from tn. a couple months ago. stripped it and off to the media blaster.

b!$@hin! i will be looking forward to seeing how this turns out. i am about three years into a build that i have no $ for but often wish i was doing a truck for autocross. some of the coolest musclecars i ever see are por touring autocross ones. good luck with the build and we love pics of the process. but i love where this is going

the motor made it home again today from redline motorsports! thanks, howard and bruce. its a ls3/magnacharged/t56 combo. 700hp +/- at crank. it was done once and in the chassis, but i sold the 72 and bought the super charger. the pullys and brackets are from wegner motorsports. they are second to none! there is a pic of the motor without the supercharger to show how clean these thing are.

the suspension is on its way, been making payments! its all current cup car stuff. 2.5" grand national stuff. 14.25 front/13 rears. thr rear is made by speedway engineering in ca. it is a light weight full floater that has negative camber and tow in in it. the outer axles are crowned. 2" 3piece sway bay out of the cup cars also. check out the bullet bust covers.

Just found your thread and love your fab work. I'm in the middle of NASCAR country and have a great appreciation for beautiful work like that. I also like your 4-2-1 headers, what are they made for?

Thanks and keep it coming,

Wow! That is a real nice one to start with. It also loks like you have a few other units. What are the plans for the build?

thanks. checked it out, good stuff! my control arms are almost done, we are moving the ball joint locations and using scp spindles to help the front end geometry. steve at hot rods to hell in northern ca, is helping me with the suspension. he specializes in truck trailing arm suspensions.

Re: 68 pro touring, auto cross c10 (mid life crisis)

thanks guys, heres a teaser on the dash im running. it will be a 140 speedo, 8k tach set up for the ls engines, and the vacumm gage is converted to a boost vacumm for the super charger. it is going to look stock. theres also a shot of the shop, we live upstairs. good and bad. have a 1 year old little guy and time isn't what it was, so updates will be random.
