Got me a shortbed
After selling my old unfinished project and looking on and off for most of the summer i finally snagged myself a little SWB last week. Its in pretty decent shape but needs a little bit of clean up here and there.
350 TBI with a 700r4, 12 bolt, tilt column, power steering I was thinking i'd get something just to run around in for a little while but now I have it I started reading through a bunch of threads on here and i kind of feel airbags in my near future.... maybe a Dropmember?? Here are a couple of pics and a quick photoshop. What do you think? Should i slam it? -Andy Last edited by Longstep70; 08-12-2008 at 06:40 PM. |

Re: Got me a shortbed
Nice ride I like it the way it is never cared much for the slammed look, a little drop is ok. Is that a repaint or another combo that is never seen

Re: Got me a shortbed
If you get air bags...you can slam it one day...and drop it 3-4" another day. That is the great thing about airbags. Go for it. Its your truck...and everything looks better lower to the ground...just how close is personal option.

Re: Got me a shortbed
Thanks for the compliments guys. The color scheme is a repaint.
I don't know enough to say one way or the other if it was ever a factory color scheme but this is definitely a repaint. I'm going to drive it as is for a little while before i decide what direction to take it. Its a fun ride. -Andy |

Nope, sorry. The glove box lid is a replacement - the inside is plain black EDP coating.

Love it! But I'm biased. I've got a 68 Custom too. (see the "Post your Ride" post).

Re: Got me a shortbed
I wish I could find a 67-72 swb big window that ran descent w/ a 700R4 or 5 speed conversion. Very cool find! I like the 58/9? also. Do they both run? I've never bagged anything, but it does give you ride hieght options.

I say if you can get it up then get down and if you can`t get down then get it up.

Re: Got me a shortbed
Great looking truck, congrats on the recent purchase!
Depending on your plans, for my $.02, I need to know what you're paint, wheel/tire,... choices will be. IMO, there's several different things that will help make the choice of a great looking bagged truck vs. statric dropped truck. Good luck with the decision, and by the way, we need more pics!

Re: Got me a shortbed
I would keep it stock. Depends on were you are, but here in Los Angeles county you will need a 4X4 just to get around. County is broke and they are not fixing the roads anymore. I see bend bling bling wheels all day long at work.
