Buick "Fireball" Straight Eight in a 55-59?

Just a random idea that popped into my head the other day, has anyone seen one of the late 40's/early 50's GM straight eights in a 55-59? If so how well did it fit?

Its far to long an engine for a taskforce or AD.

really? I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or troll or anything so please don't take my persistence as such, but having seen this picture on the web I thought it might be feasible (though I assume even in 240sx they had to do some firewall modification) having owned a 240sx in the past and knowing how small their engine bays are.

but I can't find any dimensions on the engine other than the internal specs.

If you really want it, anything will fit anything.

The bigger 235 and 26x straight sixes barely fit with short shaft water pumps in AD trucks, but if you could figure out a way to cool it there might be enough room, but it would be way tight! Not an easy swap by any means.

Good luck!

anything is possible with enough time and welding rods. you could dish the firewall and have all the room you need. Question is though, how much room are you willing to give up on the inside?
