AC & Heat Vacuum Source?
The PO disconnected the vacuum hoses from the engine that controls the heat/ac controls on my 83 w/305 engine.
I'm thinking that I need a vacuum port connector on the intake manifold at that plug near the rear of the intake next to the carb. Is this correct? Anyone have a picture of that vacuum port connector or part number? Then, that vacuum connector hose would connect to the vacuum canister that is on the firewall next the heater/AC housing. Is that correct? I've already checked all of the actuators with a vacuum brake bleeder on the inside for operation & there doesn't seem to be any leaks. Just trying to get all the parts needed to reconnect the heat/ac controls.

Re: AC & Heat Vacuum Source?
Yes on the climate control vacuum canister hose connecting to a manifold port behind the carb. There should also be a smaller hose from the canister that runs inside the cab to the climate controls.
No on a picture of the port connector. There are many variations. I would get one that has at least one extra port then you think you need to avoid either replacing it or adding a T fitting. The TH-350 vacuum shift modulator connects to the same spot. Just cap the extra port until it is needed. |
