Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

Is anyone still making any aluminum cd player plates? I am needing to install a cd player and have a hacked up dash to contend with.

I have tried using the sleeve that came with my cd player and it will not hold it tight enough.

Feel free to throw me some ideas if you have any.

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

I have one in billet that was sold by Mahanian, in Nevada or Arizona...I think.
The part he made requires a small amount of cutting to allow it to fit, but it dresses up the cut and attaches from the back side and lets a DIN-sized radio slide right in.

He's still listed in the member list, as a Premium (site supporter) member.
It is slick.

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

I sold all of my first batch and I didn't get enough interest to make another batch of them. I would need at least 20 people interested because I have to buy at least 50 so I would be sitting on the other 30 till I found buyers.

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

Well if the price is right I would be interested in an aluminum polished one.

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

I was selling them for $95 each shipped. If I can get enough interest I would order another batch

I bought one from mekdad for 50 shipped, very nice work. I'd try to get ahold of him again. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...=322847&page=4

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

Mekdad's doesn't come polished to a mirror finish and he didn't have any overhead costs for CAD or prototypes because he stole my CAD file and modified it to look a little different (uglier in my opinion). He is the guy that machined my first batch but screwed me over and started selling them as his own.

Re: Anyone making Cd Player Plates?

Mahanian's are WAY better looking and well worth the difference in cost! As stated before, I'll take two of them if you decide to make them again.

Hmm, well aluminum isn't that hard to polish. And i'm pretty picky and was more than satisfied with the end product I recieved from mekdad.

Like I said, he stole my design and my CAD file so I have no respect for him. If you like his design then more power to you...
