Steering Connection... r/p to column

alright i hope that this thread will be a good reference to source steering issues.

my set-up is a SBC 350, i tried to run "shorty block hugger headers", i am using a MII w/ rack & pinion and i am using the stock column with a "column saver". the issue is that i have to go through at least 2 pipes on the header to make the 2 joint connection. i will look into a mid joint. but my gut says a "ram horn" factory style manifold will be the best solution for clearance.

can everyone please post a pic or two of your set-up with a brief explanation as to what you have?

thanks.
Yaril

ps. i do not have my camera so i will post pics as soon as i get it back, but you can see my pics on my build thread:

Re: Steering Connection... r/p to column

I don't have any good pics right now, hard drive cr@pped out and took them with it. Anyway what I did was use GM log exhaust manifolds. They have an indentation for steering linkage. I used this setup on my old '47 panel with MMII. And am using the same on my '56.

I did find 1 pic that shows the style of manifolds. I'll try to find more and/or take some pics. Truck goes in for its exhaust Sat.
