Engine Dress Up Kit?

Hello! So my truck looks good, but now I want the engine to look the same. Where can I get nice, chrome kits and those nice braided steel hoses I see on here all the time?

just about any parts store will have (or be able to get) engine dress up. You need to look through a performance catalog though andd figure out what exactly you want. Cheap chrome pieces rust in a few years if you have a driver, and even most of the high dollar pieces have cheap chrome.

Summit or Jegs will have just about everything you want/need. I know you did not ask for opinions and I apologize for giving mine, but I just have to say that after years of thinking that anything chrome is cool and anything braided must be better, I know have the opposite opinion. Chromed metal is literally weaker and it often rusts if made cheaply. Good example is the water outlet. The cheap chromed ones always rust away in short order. I'm not into billet aluminum either but I like it better than chrome. The aluminum items also seem to seal better (valve covers, trans pan, etc.) and won't rust. Cheapy thin chromed stamped steel valve covers will leak more easily than oem or alumnium. However, I really like paint and satin finishes now. I think it will be classier and stand the test of time better and its often cheaper. My truck's long block and water pump is painted cast iron gray as is my Weiand aluminum intake and alternator (w/ black pulley). I'm going with satin finished aluminum valve covers and chromed air cleaner probably painted Krylon Dull Aluminum. Pulleys and accessorys will be Krylon Satin Black 1613. I avoid steel braided hoses since hoses are ugly and I don't won't to highlight those parts. I think chromed or satin silver hose clamp covers with stock black hoses looks real clean. I paint hood hinges and latches body color or satin black to make them disappear since they are also ugly. If you decide to go with chrome, use it sparingly. Again, just my opinion for what it's worth.

i'm another guy who dislikes cheap chrome//oon a limeted budget you're far better off doing the painstakeing detail work sometimes time consuming but cheap to do and the final results are quite rewarding

maybe post a picture or two of the engine to get more detailed suggestions on what to tidy up and the best cheapest way to accomplish it

I always go with billett aluminum....my truck is not a daily driver so it stays nice and shinny...
