number/location of bed bolts
Please excuse this overly fundamental question. I attempted to remove my short wheelbase stepside bed (under low light conditions and increasing frustration) and found a set of bolts about six or eight inches from the front bed panel going through the frame. This could be it and I know there are more. The two I tried to remove were at a rate of half a trun every 20 minutes, so I instantly exceeded the allowable frustration points fro the day causing me call it quits. Please please point me in the right direction regarding number of and location of bed/frame bolts
P.S. To and to the delima(sp?) the previous owner welded apiece of sheet metal over the bed floor, cant see bolts

Sounds like you got some fun ahead of you!! I think you found the second of 4 sets of bolts. From the front, my wood bed short step has a set about 3" back, 7" back, about 6" behind the rear and at the very end of the frame rails. (The LMC '67-'72 truck parts catalog has a good diagram for this.) Not sure if the wood bed is different from the steel one.... Good luck,
