1959 Fleetside REBORN
Well I finally get to rip into her! I bought a truck about 4 years ago to help me get stuff from home depot for our house expansion. It is a 1959 fleetside 3200. It was a good truck til a couple of months ago when the cam snapped (I think). It is a 350/350 change over. I have been collecting parts for several years....

I think that's the best reason to close it up, although it looks really cool also.

The last couple of days were used to remove rivets, clean the frame, and mocked up IFS.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN
If you look in that area, there is a sheet metal flap just screwed on. when I found it on mine I assumed a poor patch, but it comes that way from the factory. Intent was to have a place to drain and rod the crud out, but most people did not know about it, or like mine it got covered with undercoating.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN
Out in the garage for a while and this happens. Its a rust spot in a re-accruing place. Well, went to finish the boxing plates and forgot to mockup the brakes so I'm not done with that but here is what I came up with for the brakes. need to have it done by tomorrow. We're suppose to place the fuel tank and run lines, Place to air ride stuff and run lines, and plumb the brakes. So we can have the engine, trans and rearend back in end of sunday, so we could recab the frame monday.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN
Today seams like a waste, but we decited after adjusting the suspension geometry several times that I need dropped spindles. So now I get to.... dismantel IFS
weld new cross bar not suspension cross member remove old bulky one trim frame rails for boxing In the 3rd picture you can see a thick line and a dot. Thick line = 1" drop, dot = 2" drop. Sorry about pic 3.... |
