First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
Hi Guys,
I'll be driving in my first parade tomororw. My truck is a restored 67 stepper, mostly-stock looking down to the wheels. I cant decide if I should shine the tires up or not - so far I've just kept them unglossed but seems like for a parade I should gloss them up? The truck has chrome bumpers and trim, and is a bright blue color. What do you think? Any parade advice? The Passenger of Honor will be my wife's grandfather, Troy Rowe, who is a Korean War veteran. See truck photo below. |

Oh I should add that the truck will be decorated with a bunch of family in the bed throwing candy, and signs on the cab doors that say "Troy Rowe Korean War Veteran".

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
Just make sure you don't use regular Armor All - it will turn your tires brown. Use something made for tires.
And have a great time! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
This is what I use: http://www.mslt4tires.com/
I spray it on then wipe it down with a terry towel so it's not quite so shiny. It lasts way longer than Armor All.

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
I say shiney this time..unless u have to drive on gravel, then no way. If you have a full service car wash nearby the "tire dressing" they use is waterbased and will come off easy or in a couple days w/o turning you tires brown. I believe Ecolab is the mfg.

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
Shiny yes, but avoid Armor All. I like to use Meguiars Hot Shine tire gel, but I always go back after a while and wipe it back down with a rag for a nice satin finish rather than glossy that lasts and doesn't attract dust or sling.

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
I don't like them glossy or "shiny". I do the same as above.

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
Here are a couple of pictures. I ended up not putting anything on the tires, more or less due to lack of time!

Looks good.
Next time use the stuff I mentioned. You won't be disappointed with that or any of Stoner's other products. http://www.moreshine.com/

Re: First Parade Tomorrow. Armorall the tires?
That's a great looking truck!
Thank your wife's grandfather for his service. Korea - "the forgotten war". I've read about Inchon, the Chosin Reservoir, "human waves", and the monotony/terror of being entrenched on the 38th parallel...
