Body Paint what color will increse the value

I am curious, I want to paint my truck and am wondering what color i should paint it for the best value.? Do these trucks sell better with custom paint,2tone, solid color paint, and a specific color? post pics if you have them. hope this research will provide good results

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

They don't call it "resale red" for nothing.
Just don't paint it "old man tan" (a used car guy around here refers to that late model goldish/tanish metallic GM color by that name - he claims it has the lowest resale value).

I'd say that if you stick with red or black, you're probably ok. No matter what color you go with, there will be people out there that love it, and people that hate it.

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

original paint has the most value//generally speaking a $10000 paint job will add maybe $2000 or less to resale value

I would say original paint,What color was it?A total color change repaint will cost more than what you will get back out of it.Sometimes if you sell the truck and tell them It needs paint and that's why its X and not Z amount.and that the lower price is so they can paint it any color they like.

I think it would look awesome, but opinions are like..... Maybe you can get a picture over to the photoshop section. Some of these guys are slick with changing colors in there.

If it was a factory two tone.. go that route.. with the factory trim.. nothing like stock paint+trim

Red sells the fastest and for the most in my experience but that Black Cherry Mica is very nice, too.

Red,Black or Orange!!! Some of the stock colors suck... sorry guys. And stock color and factory trim are a dime a dozen. Change it up its your ride.

OK, No Offense meant and/or maybe I missunderstood the question.
Why do't you just paint your Truck the color YOU like.
Why think of resale value, unless you plan on Flipping it.

The question just struck me as funny.

When the time comes, I'll just paint mine whatever color I want, and if I do end up selling it, there are plenty of people who are eaither gonna love it or hate it.
There usually is a buyer out there for WHATEVER COLOR you decide though.

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

Im gonna tell you for a fact its gonna cost you at LEAST 2-3 times the $250 you think its gonna cost. Even if you are doing it between you and your buddy. Plus that color you are thinking of doing, you can add a few hundered more $ to that...

I'm looking at $3500.00 ($500.00 Plus/Minus), for Complete paint outside, SS Stripes on the Hood and complete paint of the Interior matching the SS Stripe Color paint and Rhino Lined Bed.

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

Painting to to sell it?.......do a popular color. If you're gonna keep it and like the truck, paint it the color you like.....just make sure it's a quality job. Unless it's some really obnoxious color, you shouldn't have a problem selling if the time was taken to do it right.

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

Whatever you do, DO NOT paint it an Easter Pastel Color if you are flipping it. I have had two serious trucks offered to me in trade for my harley in racing junk that i would of trade it in a heartbeat but because the stupid "Custom" color it killed the deal. By the way Black is the fastest color!!!

Re: Body Paint what color will increse the value

I guess my question was will a custom color paint job help me out more than not with value. As for fliping it goes never know the right offer and it could be yours, but i will say I am falling in love with this truck more and more everyday. I like this color and I will prob paint it this color but if red yellow or black increase value noticabley(sorry i spel like sh!t)I will deffinatly do it. just checked the paint, basecoat, clear and hardener will cost around 600 reducer is around 50 and like i said paint booth is only 250 will be done in a days time. one more ? can someone tell me if there is a good reasons not to pait it this color?

BTW thank you everyone for taking intrest in this thread

also red is more eye cathing but do more blue cars sell more than blue ones according to this.

I would guess that more are red so more money with red but what about value . can I do a poll here
this forum is Vbullitine based right how do i do a poll because the word value stands for ;An amount, as of goods, services, or money, considered to be a fair and suitable equivalent for something else; a fair price or return.

but should also include what an indvidual desires is not that what drives up market price. anyways sorry for ranting..
