Longhorn Bed Wood Removal
Lifted the bed off my truck this weekend and began removing bed wood. I didn't realize how many bolts there were in the decking, rails, and strips. There must be at least 200 or more.
Some broke loose with no problem, however, most spin as the square shanks just cannot hold in the sheet metal. I also breifly used my flaming wrench and found the old wood catches fire easily. Will be using alot of elbow grease and my slitter wheel this week to finish up. |

I found that putting the bed upside down and using a 4-inch angle grider went pretty fast. I would just grind through the nut and use a chisel to knock them loose.

I found using the impact gun in tighting mode and just breaking them worked best. You are probibly going to buy new bolt anyway.
