Shortning wood LWB floor questions?

I have a couple questions:
I am going to shorten a LWB wood floor to a SWB wood floor.
I know that 8" has to come out behind the wheel tubs and 12" in front of the wheel tubs. Is it as simple as removing the boards and cutting the required ammount out and removing a cross sill or two and bolting back together? I bet Im missing something? ANY thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.
