LMC delivery...
.
...success! Tuesday last week, I ordered the early windshield trim. Received the shipment today and initially was worried stuff would be damaged as the box was open. However what I found inside was a relief as the trim was in its own box, taped in so it wouldn't move around and was packed into the outer box pretty good. This must have been sitting on a shelf for a very long time as the outer box "top" was caked thick with dirt and dust. Trim looks to be in good condition. -Kevin

Re: LMC delivery...

Install did not go well. The culprit is the gasket from LMC. The trim wasn't really the problem this time around. This glass has already been installed successfully with a precision gasket but the (late model) trim popped out and so it was a failed install. This purchase of trim+gasket from LMC was an attempt to get past the difficulty of installing the late trim (that with a shallow anchor) on my truck. I bought the early trim (that with a 5/8 inch anchor down into the gasket) and matching gasket for the installer this time to try and make it easier and successful. With the LMC gasket, the installers could not get the glass even close to going in the hole. They tried twice. Once roping from the top first and a second time roping from the bottom first. Both attempts came up over an inch short of being able to get the thing in the truck. That is, the glass needed to move an additional inch after being fully seated on either the top or bottom. They're gonna give it another shot soon with a Precision branded gasket. Right now I'm very disappointed. -Kevin

Installers came back today for the 4th and final time. Glass with trim is in. The LMC trim fit fine. The LMC gasket on the other hand would not work at all. The installers brought a Precision gasket which worked fine with the trim. Verdict: LMC trim good. LMC gasket is not good. -Kevin

Re: LMC delivery...
That’s good to know, I know I’m the past the aftermarket trim has been total junk. Glad they’ve made it better.
