Question no accesery on ignition switch

I have a 64 GMC 3/4 ton pu. the ignition switch has acc-off-run-start postions on it but when you put it in acc nothing works{radio ect} all other postions work as they should . is this right for this year truck or am i missing something? thanks for any help Mikie

There is no acc. position on these chevy ign. switches. I just went through that problem with a new Painless harness. I ran a wire from the constant hot wire to a toggle switch and led indicator to the switched wire to the radio. That way you can have the radio on without the motor running. The led is there to remind me that it is on and to shut it off when parked.

you can run to the parts store and pick up a 7 dollar ign switch that works great
thats what i did with mine

The older gms 60-62 or 63 had an acc position and harness so the switch has probably been changed , so if you wanted you could probably run a wire with an inline fuse from the back of the switch to your acc. load
