Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
I just installed an Edelbrock Performer #1406 carb and Edelbrock EPS intake # 2701 onto my 1977 K10 that has a 400sbc and 4 speed trans. It looks like I'll need throttle cable stud kit # 8009, but I'm not sure on the T cable bracket. I've used Edelbrock T cable brackets in the past on a few Pontiacs, always had to bend or weld them to fit. Does anyone make a good fitting, simple bracket that the factory cable will snap into?

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
That'll be my back up if the Jeg's part doesn't work, years ago, I bought similar brackets like that from Summit and Edelbrock, they were flimsy and really didn't fit all that well. Thanks!

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
They’re still flimsy.
I’ve used ones like this. Much stronger. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/s...yABEgKYGfD_BwE |

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
i have yet to get anything from edelbrock lately that I don't have to cut, weld, and modify to get it correct. As much as I despise 700 transmissions I was stuck with one in the shop that needed a cable installed. Took me 3-4 hours with servicing the trans and modifying the 'linkage kit' to get the geometry correct so it would shift right

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
On my 75 with a Performer intake and 1405 Eddy, I used the factory throttle bracket from the old Q-jet setup. Same for the trans shift cable.

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
My trucks is a manual, but does have the original auto trans shift cable bracket on it, which also serves as a bracket for the PB booster line and for the factory spark plug loom to clip into. My original Q jet throttle bracket is about an inch to narrow to hit the studs on the Eddy carb.

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
I have one of those summit brackets. It works well. You have to buy the trans kickdown cable attachment separately. Also, the trucks stock throttle cable attachment is round, this one comes with a square one for later years.

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
Mines a manual, so don't need the kickdown bracket, I think my T cable is square. I'll check out the bracket Thanks!

Re: Edelbrock carb bracket recommendations
I ended up buying an AED 6700BK billet throttle bracket, and an Edelbrock 8009 pin style cable adapter, everything hooked up and looks good. The only mod I had to make was to trim down my factory square throttle cable to fit in the AED bracket's hole, that took about 2 minutes, very pleased how this turned out Thanks!
