Re: Another Blue Chevy
My Mother in Law found it and bought it for me. It has a newer 6 cylinder with 12 volt . I'll know more once we get it home.

Re: Another Blue Chevy
It's not home yet but I got the stamping behind the distributor = F0309TF (Flint March 9th) couldn't find anything on suffix letters TF. Didn't think to get casting #'s.

Re: Another Blue Chevy
Well "ask and you shall receive" . Today my newest LMC catalog showed up and I looked through the engine id section and there is was . TF suffix code is a '67 or '68 250 c.i.d. . Answered my question.

Re: Another Blue Chevy
Thanks Nate. I ran my '67 for the first ten years with a 250 6 cyl. It was fun with a car 4 speed behind it.

Re: Another Blue Chevy
I do know I won't be roddin' around in the '35. It still has the original trans with enclosed driveshaft to the stock rear.

A Vintage Blue Chevy
Please keep us posted .
My shop truck was a '46 3100 with a '57 235 in it for a few decades, it came to me with a 1938 three speed floor shift tranny, back in the 1970's it wasn't too hard to find a N.O.S. '41 ~ '46 Commercial tranny (floor shift & needle bearings in the cluster gear), swapped that in then drove the wheels off it . Now I'm old so I bought a '69 C/10 with 250 & TH350, P.S. & P.B., the restoration shop ripped me off, it now looks great but doesn't run, I'm too broken down to finish it up and hope a guy I found will take it on this February . Very few these days understand how sweetly old i6 powered Chevies run and drive .

Re: Another Blue Chevy
Everyone asks "when you gonna LS it" and I just tell them I'm gonna enjoy it. My'67 would be in line for the engine upgrade. My Blazer just rolled past 112,000 last week and I'm not messing with it either.

Chevy LS
That's the lazy way out and few ever enjoy driving them once all Hot Rodded .
Every time someone tells me "I drive it all the time" I offer to buy them lunch and pay for the gas to take a 20 minute ride up the Angles Crest Highway for a nice lunch, guess how many have ever taken me up ? . You do what you want with your cool little trucklet, I bet you'll enjoy it more than any Hot Rod .

-finally- !
Of course I've owned many old trucks and used every one of them as daily drivers and shop trucks to boot .
Hence my comments . I've never had a restored truck apart from my 1931 Ford (oops, sorry) DeLuxe dual side mount pickup that I drove 250 miles home the day I bought it, this was on a twenty year old restoration and being in VGC, not quite stock it of course ran fine and handled the trip easily . If ever I get to Wi. I will pay the gas and lunch/coffee for a ride . I was just pointing out the facts, they're not nice but they are the facts . I noticed this way back in the 1960's when I was using 1940's rigs for farm work and going into town and the guys who had shiny Hot Rods all laughed at me although we worked and put serious hard miles on our old battered trucks . You're the VERY FIRST PERSON to ever take me up on my offer . Thank you ! .

Re: Another Blue Chevy
Fuel pump didn't fix it . It's running out of fuel. I may half to blow out the line or replace it , not sure which. May work on it next Sunday.

Fuel Flow Issues
Be smart and remove the fuel tank, it's prolly got crud and debris in it ~ the fuel feed is on the bottom via a tiny little shut off valve ~ most of the old farm trucks I worked on in the 1970's had little bits of straw and grass standing up from the mouth of this valve .
The tank is almost certain to have some rust in it, dead easy and CHEAP to clean using Phosphoric Acid and water.... Mix the acid & water OUTSIDE the tank and pour it in, dump in a handfull of old nuts & small flat washers, cover the holes and shake the beejeebers out of it ~ your arms will get sore, stop awhile and SHAKE IT SOME MORE . Drain the cloudy and debris filled liquid out via a large funnel lined with scrap felt or an old cloth chambray work shirt then you can use the same liquid to go back in and clean it some more . Takes a little time but no one will do as good a job as you do ~ take it from a professional . Whatever you do, DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO USING MURIATIC ACID ! it eats metal not just rust, Phosphoric Acid cannot damage good steel . ? Have you yet done a siphon test ? .
