Lightbulb Big block motor mounts??

I have a question about big block motor mounts for my 67. I see that a lot of people on here say that if they're selling big block motor mounts, they are for 67 to 71, and that 72 is all by itself. Can somebody please explain to me why this is, because I'm putting in a front suspension from a 72 3/4 ton under my 67 frame. What motor mounts for a big block do I use? This truck is two wheel drive. Because I'm looking for a set of mounts for a big block, I just don't know which ones I need. Thanks, John

Re: Big block motor mounts??

You can actually use either set-up, but if you are using the 72 x-member it will be easier to use the 72 b'cuz the lower hole in the x-member will already be drilled. Does that make sense?

Re: Big block motor mounts??

I've got all different answers to ths question including that the 68-71 will work you just need to drill a hole in the frame. I was recently told by a
vendor on this site when inquiring about purchasing 68-71 fior my 72 bb I would not have to drill holes.

Re: Big block motor mounts??

I'm just readin this thread and now you have me scratching my head. I just pulled a set of small block mounts from a 72 to install on my 67. Am I in for a headache? BTW does anyone know the difference between the V6 mounts and the BB mounts? I dont have the faintest idea what is in my truck, but my 350 is sitting too high right now.

Re: Big block motor mounts??

I'm pretty sure you have to notch the frame on a 67 to get the bb stands to work(frames wider on 67s in the front), and then I am assuming you would have to drill holes to bolt them down. I've heard of people puting a bigblock in there truck on small block towers, but requires the use of headers.
