No more tub rubbin PICS
Wondering what you guys thought about my new wider tubs. Streched each side 5". Plenty of room for my 20x12"s now. The guy even matched my dull paint with base/clear(flat clear). Just thought I'd give my paint/body guy some props. I did all the cuttin and drilling but, I leave the sanding and painting to someone who knows what they're doing.

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
Very nice. Now cover up the filler for the fuel cell so no one is wise to ya.

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
Yeah I know. Thinking of a clever way to do that without looking like I'm trying to do that. If that makes sense? lol

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
How about a rubber bed mat? It will cover everything up and can be flipped up to fill the cell.

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
Like I said prostreetC-10 I had nothing to do with the final body work. Have to give that credit to my body man. Sports Car Collision (McAdenville,NC)
Good idea N2TRUX but I'm thinking of maybe some kind of toolbox or spare tire or something along those lines.

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
No these aren't pre-fab. I just found another set and cut both sets to end up with a 5" wider tub on each side.
BIG BLOCK I'll throw in a pic but it's still dirty from the paint shop.

Looks nice! What backspacing did you end up going with?

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
It's such a better look than going with a CE kit or something like that. Great for conversation too! By the time I got mine done, I was so burned out I said "on to something else".

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
1lime... I love those Vintecs, they have a cool slot/retro look. I seriously considered them for my Jimmy. What has stopped me is... I just don't see how a wheel with that much diameter and corresponding lack of sidewall can hook in the face of BB torque. How is that working for you?
If Hart Rod reads this, he can answer too. Lol Last edited by Tom Vogel; 05-01-2011 at 09:56 PM. |

Re: No more tub rubbin PICS
I think the backspacing on the rear was 7". Wish I would have narrowed my rearend first to get less backspacing but no turning back now. What did you go with Hart Rod? Sweet truck by the way.
They actually hook up suprisingly well, but I am running a Nitto Drag Radial. Wish they had a taller drag radial to fill up my fender well but that's the tallest they offer so far. Here are some pics.
