Hub Cap Help Needed

Would someone with knowledge of hub caps let me know what these are off of? I am wanting to use these on a 71-72 5 x 5 steel 15" wheel. Is it possible or am I dreaming? Thanks for the help! Joel

They won't fit. These are the inner clip type used on pre-69 8-lug trucks. There is an identical in appearance hubcap made for the 6-lug 1/2 tons that mounts on the outer nubs, just like the 69-75 and 76-91 style.

Is there a hub cap made in this style that would fit the nubs on a 5 lug 71-72 wheel?

Yes, They look just like those on the outside but the opening on the back is bigger and measures roughly 10-1/4" and fits nub style rims.

Yes,that's what I was trying to say. The 67/68 1/2t caps are outer nub type and look identical to the ones you are asking about. 67-70 are 6-lug wheels and 71-91 are 5-lug. They all take the same size hub cap,so they can be interchanges. All the GM car hubcaps fit, too. So do Fords and some others,if you don't mind another make's name on your truck .

I just went out and took some pictures. All these hub caps will fit:

Re: Hub Cap Help Needed

I still think it would be easy to transfer the clips to a 16" wheel. I still have the split rims on my truck that I am just going to scrap and I might have to try it.

Meatman, Any chance you could post a pic of the clips? Sounds like the easiest solution. Has anyone ever tried this and with any luck?
