Fuel filler idea?

I have looked at all the ideas on the board for fuel fillers for a fleet side. I like Hugger's tail light filler. The only problem is I am not going to have chrome around my tail light. So there would be a gap on the bottom of the light that I would not be able to cover up. I like the idea of the side marker light filler and the filler on top of bed stake pocket, but I don't like having to cut up a new bed side. With all that being said, I am tossing the idea around to fill from the bed floor. I found a gas filler on ebay that may would work. It is angled where I could have a straight shot into the filler neck of the blazer tank. Here is some pics of the filler from ebay and my bed floor. Tell me what you think.

i personaly don't like the fillers in the bed floor.i like to use my trucks,and i also think it's the easy way out, although i have seen som real nice craftsmenship on some. i do understand not wanting to cut a new bedside but if done well it is worth it. i did a sidemarker fill on my shortbox and love it. i finialy got to try it yesterday and it fill as fast as the pump will pump

Keep in mind that with the filler on the bed floor, you won't be able to fill with stuff in the bed - it could get annoying.

I had the sidemarker fill on my truck and I loved it. Just extend the rear stake pocket enough to hide it and most people would never even know it was there.

I agree with the above posts. Also any dust, dirt, leaves & general crap laying in the bed floor might fall into the filler hole?

I have the filler in the side of the bed. Its from a 90 chevy s10 and the old filler neck has been teared drop to put a power antenna in. I hope this helps.

I used one from Hagen Streetrods welded in to the bed side and also did a power frenched antenna where the old filler was.

I have the aftermarket side tank on my truck with the ugly aluminum fuel door on the side of the bed. I was going to put the filler for that tank on the inside of the bed, basically directly on the other side of where it is now. After noticing the tank sits lower than the chassis, I will not be using it anymore, but I am going to be putting a rear fuel cell in the truck and am going to put the filler in the rear on the inside bedside.

Fillers in the bed floor aren't my cup of tea, but I have seen some I like. If your bed floor is wood (I know it isn't), there is a vendor who makes a kit to enable a bed board to flip up to allow access to the filler. When the bed board is flipped back down, nothing shows. Bed is still usable but be sure you don't need to get any gas while it is being used.

I am also going to experiment with a s-10 fuel door hinge to use on the tail light. This may eliminate the need to add extra clearance for the tail light to swing out. I just need to trim the door back where it will fit. The hinge itself is narrow enough to into the taillight opening.

I went a different route for my under bed tank. Very little hassle and works quite well at the pump. Never have had any back flow issues and the bed floor is available any time.

tried this based on Wynne's setup and could not make it work without trimming the same area he did. Curious to see if you can figure it out. I think you will need a 'double hinge' type for it to clear properly.

In twelve years I have never had a problem with the filler in the corner of my bed floor......Here's another option. The gas nozzle will go through the gas cap. You do not have to remove it to fill tank.
