Front Coli Springs....help!
I found where my front end is clunking everytime I flex the suspension. The drivers side coil spring is not centered in the holes and hits the upper control arm causing the clunk. The PO installed ECE's 2/4 drop and I don't know if it was in fact done correctly. Both springs end at different positions in the lower control arm. It doesn't look like there is any kind of stops to keep them from turning? Is something missing? I did a search but found no pics. Neither of my manuals give a good look at it either. The drivers side also sits about a inch lower in the front if that means anything. Any pics or info would help a lot! TIA.....
Damn...should have checked my spelin in the title!

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
The lower control arms have a small 'divot' formed in them to seat the tail end of the coil. This keeps the coils in similar positions from side to side.
Verify that both springs have the tail end of the coil-winding seated in these divots.

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
if i were you i'd take both springs out and compare them to make sure you in fact have a pair of springs that match

you should check this first before removing them. 99% of the time this is it.

Yea neither spring was in the divot. I loosened everything up and seated the springs correctly and put it all back together. Clunck is gone now but I've still got the lean. Gonna pull the springs and compare them.

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
I've already got the lower balljoints loose and the shocks removed. All I should have to remove is the sway bar mounts and the springs should come out....right?

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
When trying to figure out the lean, don't discredit the rear springs, anything in the bed, or properly adjusted caster. Anybody else have any problems with their truck leaning and the cure?

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
The PO put this ECE 2/4 drop on about a year ago so I would think the springs would be ok but ya never know. I put all new tie rods, ball joints and bushings in the front and had the truck aligned so that should be good. Cab mounts and radiator support are all good. Just want's to dip about an inch which in turn makes the right rear a bit higher than the left. I know the new chevys have a lean problem. Maybe they always have?

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
sounds like maybe the springs are not tall enough to fill the viod.
Might need taller springs or new ones if they are crushed. I would go over the whole front end and see whats up

Re: Front Coli Springs....help!
I currently have the same problem with my truck's back end. It turns out my bed doesn't sit right because it's too rusted and there's no real bed wood.

I've tryied everything, with the levels and bed bushings I think one of the springs is soft or shorter.
