Slp?
Its kinda sad but i just heard about SLP loudmouth mufflers today. So i looked online to hear them and it seems like there on a lot of Camaros. Now im sure i want to set up a 2.5 in h-pipe but idk if i should stay with my flowmaster 40 series. Im also running long tube headers, if anyone has any suggestions to make my truck sound mean, let me know. Would slp loudmouths be a bad idea?

Got a clip of how they sound? I'm familiar with SLP but their Camaro SSs and Pontiac Firehawks.

I had a set on a trans am, loud as he!!. Also annoying as he!! in my opinion. I swapped it out for a dynomax quieter set.
But this was years ago, i can't be positive about now though.

I love SLP and have thought about that when I redo my exhaust myself. Camaro's are SLP's big thing since they came out with the SS. They know there stuff and make quality parts. I know 2 guys that are running LM, one is a 01 Z28 3" exhaust, sounds mean as hell. Also is a guy I work with has a 69 Mach 1, 351, built, big game, totally redone beautiful car. His is full length, 3" SLP LM, sounds great. I love Flowmaster, have had them on everything I've owned. So you cannot go wrong. SLP is going to be louder and probably meaner. While Flowmaster is going to be a little deeper but also mean sounding. I say go for it.

SLP Loudmouths can hardly be called mufflers....
IMO they sound ok, and pretty mean on a stock F-body that still has catalytic converters, but on a car with LT headers (or just no cats) they sound horrible, lots of popping and rasp, which would be the same result you will likely get with them.

I have owned 3 of the SLP Firehawks and loved all 3 of them. However, I did install a loudmouth setup on one of them with headers and it lasted about a week before I yanked it off.

Its loud which is cool, but annoying raspy nasty loud. Been there done that. I have Flowmaster single chamber 10 series on car now. Its loud but sounds amazing, especially at WOT.

For loud,my buddy put electric cut-outs on his Firehawk to scare the cocky Mustang boys next to him at a light...then leave them in his dust.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm thinking that slp lm would be a bad idea, I thin electric cut outs after the h pipe would be real cool but i don't know if that's a good idea, any suggestions on that?

Just stopped by a family friend's exhaust shop he suggested a 2.5 inch true dual with my 40 series. I'm currently running 2 inch true dials and it's not loud enought

Good choice, I have had them on 3 different cars/truck and know plunty other people with them. I am going with 44's when I redo this exhaust. Really not that much different I believe 44's are suppose to be a little deeper sounding but close to same loudness. I had headers, true duals 2.5" 40's on my 97 Sierra with a 350 vortec with a small cam and hiflow cats and I loved the way it sounded. It had a good deep idle that wasn't real loud but when you jumped on it, it screamed and sounded mean. Are you going to dump the exhaust or have them come all the way out the back?
