72 fleetside models

I have two unopened AMT '72 Fleetside models that I am finally letting go, these are very rare these days in an unopened mint condition like these. I will sell together or separately, $75 each or $125 for the pair, shipped.

Re: 72 fleetside models

Those are sweet.

Do you know when these were made? It might help in selling these.

Good luck

Re: 72 fleetside models

Ertl acquired AMT,the company who originally produced the plastic model kits,in 1985. The oldest reissue here is the yellow & white kit from 1995. The red one is a 1998 issue. They have released a couple other versions since. Only the box art changed with each issue...well,other than the decals and the lack of white wall tires and maybe the custom wheels changed on some. The kit itself is the same kit in a different box.

Re: 72 fleetside models

The yellow and white kit is a 2in1, with custom options, don't believe the red has those options. Any offers?

Re: 72 fleetside models

No short Fleetside models ever made, only GMC short Fenderside. There are parts sold on ebay (& elsewhere) to "create" a shortbed, but you must begin with one of these kits for a donor. The original issues go for much more than these, but are too collectible to build,in most's option

So what do you value these at? If I can't sell them, I will just keep them for 15-20 more years

Re: 72 fleetside models

I'm not sure what they're worth. The ones I have I bought new at the hobby shop. s much as I hate to say it,but maybe check Ebay for what they're selling for. I hate that because there's life outside Ebay, there was life before Ebay, and Ebay is an auction so prices are never the same anyway. But...it is a place that's always there and there are always things for sale. You can get some idea anyway. I'd be patient. You only listed these about a day and a half ago.
