hey guys have a chance to get a realy clean CST have a question about CST trucks are they a rare truck to find or not and what does CST mean

Cardreams, CST optioned trucks aren't really rare so much as they are desireable. There was base model, custom model, and CST model. CST was the high end level trim and comfort option. Code z84, it included things like shiney aluminum grille moldings and headlight bezels, chrome front bumper. Chrome vent window frames, Bright front and rear window moldings. Bright control knob trim. Chrome pedal trim and horn button cap, CST emblems on the doors, carpeting, left and right arm rests, left and right sunvisors, cigar lighter, dual horns, and vinyl door trim. CST option did NOT include the guage package or full wheel covers or put any restriction on drivetrain or supension. In 1967 the cst option included A50 bucket seats and no bench seat was available. In 1968 and on you could get bucket seats or a bench seat in a CST although most had buckets. It's the bucket seats that inspires the CST option and all that flashy trim makes them pop over a base model. A custom model was in between the two. So rare no, but desireable yes.

In 1968, they made the CST 50 Year Anniversary, Painted White with Black and Gold CST Emblems. Try to find that one.
Check LMC Truck Emblems. It indicates one of these emblems for the Blazer.

I have the C10 CustomCamper with 3/4 Ton Options. The origional would have a 396CID, TH400, Eight Lugs Wheels, three gas tanks, plus the Custom emblem on the door under the window and CustomCamper emblem on the front fenders.

Did the CST have different bed lengths, step side, suspension option, engine sized min/max?

1) 50th anniversaries could be Customs or CSTs and the emblems were the same as any other color combo with red,white,and blue.I believe you are talking about the Blazer CST emblems.

2)Is your Custom Camper 20 a '68?Sounds like it,or a '67,going by the script "Custom" emblem indicating the Custom Comfort option.

3)As said,the CST option was a trim level.It was available on all 10-30 series trucks.So that's all Stepsides,Fleetsides,and Cab & Chassis with any engine,suspension,or other mechanical options.

It's deffinantly a 68 per the VIN. The previous owner, a kid, painted over the inner glovebox covering up the factory options, which I would like to recover if possible.

I've owned a 51 Chevy P/U 1/2 Ton, a 68 C10 w/ 307 3 in the tree and wood bed, and a 72 C20 4X4. Thought I knew my stuff. Although I bought this one for $1100.00 cash from the same kid who painted over the glove box interior.

Correct! My information comes from LMC Truck which Longhorn Man points out has "gobs" of false information.

I have the origional 1968 Chevrolet Chassis Overhaul and Service Manuals for Series 10-60. No Blazer but there is the K Model Suburban.

When the body style changed for the '67 Model year, K-series trucks were offered as they had been when the '60-66's were new. Whether in a panel or in a suburban....still 4WD.

A lot of the items that were noted as part of the CST package has been note above in the comments. The Custom Comfort and Appearance package was part of the CST package, with a few more amenities. Here's a pic of an SPID from a '69 LWB truck that has some options, but was the bottom-line C/10. The original purchaser could have ordered the CC&A package and gotten just about all of it.

CST is just trim stuff... no engine or bed requirements...
CST could be on a short/step with an inline and a 3 speed with no air or power steering, and manual brakes. You didn't even need optional paint colors or two tone.
It's just a trim package.

Do you have a pic of the SPID on this truck? I have never seen documentation, nor original survivors that indicate you caould get 8 lug wheels on a 1/2 ton truck. It makes no sence at all for GM to have done this... opens them up to liability. The 396/th400 could be had in any 2 wheel drive pick up, 10, 20 or 30 series, and the 2 added fuel tanks would have been installed after the truck was built. (not a factory installed option in 68 or 69... since you say yours originally had a 396 it could only be a 68 or 69) Whats the 3rd digit in your VIN?

How do I find out how rare a dark green/light green two tone CST Truck is? Is there anywhere to check that.

there are no numbers. That color combo is pretty rare though. most opted for a white secondary color.

About the eight lugs all the way around: it still has the large version of drum brakes, so that nukes a new front end being put on. I'm pretty sure from 69 on the 3/4 Ton got disks so this makes the front end combo rare.

I don't see why you are calling it a 1/2 ton. It's a 3/4 ton. The VIN says it (as you admitted) the suspention says it... there's nothing 1/2 ton about it.
Tanks can be dealer or aftermarket... but not factory.

Right Captain Obvious, had always assumed the C20 3/4 Ton was leaf spring rear suspension with control arms. So, my baby is a C20 Custom Camper! Now I'm wondering where I heard C10 Custom Campers were beafed up with 3/4 Ton suspension and driveline.

I guess I didn't look at your avatar.I was just trying to decipher your emblems.So,your truck has the squarish emblem on the fender that has Custom Camper in script with a bowtie which means there is no "20" (or "10" or "30") anywhere on the truck.The other models had a big red bowtie and 10,20,or 30 under it.That was how they did it.There was only one Custom Camper emblem 66-68 for all series trucks.In '69 the fender emblem was the same style as all other models (C/10,Custom/10,& CST/10) and would have read "Custom Camper/20".The trim level would have not been "badged",but shown on the SPID and more obviously by the trim on the truck.
The same CST emblem from 67/68 trucks was used on 69-72 Blazers,but in the different color accents,located in the same place on the door.
Coils spring/trailing arm rear suspension was satndard on 67-72 10 & 20 series.Leaf spring rear suspension was an option and all 30 series had it.
