re: SSR

Saw one of those a yellow one at the local Chevy Dealership a couple of weeks ago. I was not impressed. It listed for 44k and they had a mark up of 20k. Some one bought it for 10 k over the sticker. I would rather have a Z06 Corvette. My two cents. Wootdog

Yes, they have gotten outta line on the price a bit. My uncle retired from GM a few years ago and he just got one for the price you stated. They were trying to hit him up for a big dealer markup ,but he went up high in GM management and they backed off to the sticker price. It is an awesome vehicle based on the production Traillazer platform. He said he's put more miles on the power top than the truck itself , showing its retractor feature. I work for an automotive tier 1 supplier and have tracked it since they gave it a green light for production. It is a bit of a toy but not intended for the masses.

Its not a necessity to sustain life or to function. Its more like a Rolex why would you pay $5000 just to tell the time. But I don't agree with the dealer markup either, but its the law of supply and demand that they take advantage of since they are limited production. I'm not in disagreement with any of your statements. It was true of the Vipers ten or so years ago, it was/is true of the T-birds and the GT40. You gotta pay to play.
